Glacial Jade Flower
Hand Carved from a pale, blue tinted, Guatemalan Jadeite.
At the 2008 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show a small example of a very pale blue jadeite from Guatemala was obtained. That piece proved very tight with ample integrity to carve this fine jadeite flower form.
Fortunately the specimen was sufficient to carve this exquisite form only.
The pale, blue tint to this jade is reminiscent of the underlying blues seen in glaciers, hence the reference to indicate the subtle coloring of this highly translucent jade.
Center mountings are antiqued silver, yellow gold and cultured pearl.
Front back and profile indicating the 3D qualities of this sculptured jade pendant.
Faint, textured spots are just discernible on the right hand image.
Length ….. 2 3/8 inches ( 62 mm )
