Hand Carved in New Zealand nephrite from the much valued Marsden Jade. So called because of the locality it is found in which is well known to surrender exquisite stones.

Translucent, rich green, Nephrite Jade from New Zealand is a rare material these days and this piece illustrates all these qualities superbly.

Small black inclusions indicating this is the ‘Kawakawa’ variety of Pounamu.
