This is a very fine, tight grained Guatemalan Jadeite with considerable translucency which will be explored in the refining of the ‘Petal’

As the material was slowly removed and the translucent qualities began to be apparent the piece gained a whole new aspect of life and appreciation for the jade increased.

Under the normal workshop incandescent lighting this stone tended toward a blue /yellow -green however as the afternoon sun streamed in the window and lit this jadeite carving the color changed dramatically to a wonderful clear blue.
